Description
Sphere – 05 is an optical – electronic system designed to detect and track above – water, air and shore objects.
System Components
Depending on given tasks and mission Sphere – 05 can comprise up to four similar
optical – electronic modules (EOM).

The modules comprises several gyro – stabilized units:
- Scanning unit – thermal imaging and TV cameras; angular degrees– 25 – +80
- Two units – low – level TV camera and range finder; 90 angular degrees
Sphere – 05 provides
Each module covers a spatial sector of 90 an gular degrees in azimuth and from −25 to 80 angular degrees in elevation.
Technical Characteristics
Unique technical characteristics were achieved while designing Sphere – 05
- Round spatial layer with (6−360) degrees is observed for a time not exceeding (3–4) sec (with four optical – electronic modules available).
- Coordinates are determined for all detected targets with an accuracy of one division point.
- Automatic tracking for up to eight targets with an error of one division point with simultaneously operating passive IR location (with optical – electronic modules available).
- Maximum detection and automatic tracking range is up 25 km due to up – to – date digital TV channels with.
- Mega – pixel matrixes and high – aperture lens as well as digital process of video data.
- Automatic adjustment of optical units in the process of operation.
- Laser receiver PD is protected against powerful extraneous emissions from the enemy due to implementing up – to – date protective optical devices.
- Automatic troubleshooting during operation and on – line switching to standby channels Providing helicopter landing.
