Air Target Lock – on and Tracking Module TLM

Karat has developed and produces an air target lock – on and tracking module TLM. TLM is intended to search, detect and track an aerial target simulator (ATS) in any background conditions. TLM is located in one of the structural elements of training MANPAD Igla – S series outputting an ATS “lock – on and tracking” signal while the gunner is practicing.

Tasks Covered By TLM

  • Observation in the IR range by operator.
  • ATS automatic detection.
  • Automatic jamming tuning; ATS tracking by operator in selected solid angle.
  • Automatic supply of ATS lock – on and tracking signal.

TLM Components

  • Micro – bolometric TIS Module
  • IR lens.
  • Digital processing board.

Tasks Covered by TLM

  • Spectral range is 8–14 µm; Field of vision is 11−8.2 angular degrees; ATS lock – on and tracking field is 2−2 angular degrees.
  • Range is from 50 to 150 m (by air target simulator with overall dimensions 0.8−1 m), with meteorological range of visibility (MRV) is 2 km minimum with target thermal contrast being no less than 10 °C and absolute humidity of no more than 10 g/m3)
  • Software – aided target lock – on zone in a angular field of ±1.5 angular degrees relative to the lens central axis; Date up date time is 0.1 s e c; Warm up time after power supply is 10 sec maximum; Power supply – voltage (5±1) V DC; Consumed power is 10 W, maximum;
