Description

Karat develops and manufactures gyro – stabilized guided weapon homing heads (GHH). Gyro stabilized homing heads detect targets and provide precise guided weapon guidance at target using optical – electronic units. Gyro – stabilization significantly increases guidance accuracy and protects an optical unit against vibrations and shocks.

GHH Components

Guided weapon homing head includes the following components:
  • Gyro – Stabilized Suspension System
  • Optical unit (TV camera, thermal imaging cameras, laser target designation devices, etc.).
  • Video image analysis system

Gyro – stabilized suspension system functions: GHH

  • Change in angular position of optical – electronic units.
  • Optical – electronic unit position control in automatic target tracking mode.
  • Optical – electronic unit gyro – stabilization in inertial coordinate system with no control signals.
  • Determination and output of data to the guided weapon control system on angular position of sight axis relative to the base coordinate system.

Image Processing

Karat incorporates a Centre for Image Processing in Special Purpose Systems. The Centre has a vast experience in processing of complex mathematical models, algorithms and software products implemented in the systems for analysis, processing, and correction of images obtained from various sources.

Software products created by the Centre work in various opto eletronic systems manufactured by Karat.
